Alex Manfrin
Alex’s work has appeared on Radio National, 720am, Homegrown Humour, SBS and at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
An interest in cartooning led him to writing comedy for breakfast radio which in turn led him to start performing at the Laugh Resort in the mid-90s usually as characters such as the Bull Terrier-loving Ian from Hills, the devious youth arts officer Art Admino or Barry the Bloody Boring Bush Poet.
Alex has become best known in recent years as John How-Odd, his hilarious alter-ego who bears an uncanny resemblance to an Australian Prime Minister with a similar name. Mr How-Odd has become a popular face at conferences and corporate functions as well as stand-up comedy venues.
Alex also coordinated Fremantle’s only regular showcase for stand-up comics, The First Friday of the Month Comedy Show at the Fremantle Hotel from 1995 -2005.

Andrea Gibbs
Andrea won Western Australia's Westpac Maths Competition at age 10.
Since then, she hasn't done much with her life. She's from Donnybrook - so what do you expect? Mind you, she did get sent over to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2005 carrying the RAW Comedy torch for WA - but we think this was probably an accident.
You can also check her out at Lazy Susan's Comedy Club, where she performs with The Big HOO-HAA! improv troupe.
She's full of funny bones - well at least that's what the voices inside her head keep telling her.

Bluey Von Steiger
Bluey Von Steiger is one of Perth’s most consistently sought after comedians, having been a regular performer on the club, corporate and festival scene since 1994.
Bluey, from Balga (and he’s never denied that), describes himself as the last of the Western Australian entrepreneurs never to have been held in captivity. As well as solving the world’s problems on a daily basis, he still finds time to concentrate on the minutiae of the everyday, the best (and worst) of being a multicultural Australian, The Big Picture, The Small Picture and the inkblot test.
Bluey’s willingness to tackle the important issues have seen him appear on TV (ABC and Channel 31), radio (ABC, PMFM, 96FM, to name a few) and on stage at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Adelaide Fringe.
Closer to home he is a “first pick” for Perth’s comedy debating circuit, has twice featured at the invitation-only Pemberton Comedy Festival and is a regular performer on Perth’s corporate circuit.
Bluey can be booked directly through Single Spot Promotions on (08) 9343 0036 (phone/fax) or 0402 282 329 or can be emailed at and is willing and able to tailor a show to your requirements.

Don Smith
Don has been a professional stand-up comedian since his first gig in 1990. “After my first ever attempt at stand-up - where I ended up doing 20 minutes because the MC was too scared to come back on - I got paid for the next gig, and the next gig, and so on.”
In 1993 he performed at the Amnesty International Benefit at The Basement in Sydney. Since then he has done hundreds of gigs all over WA, including MC for Elliot Goblet, Pommy Johnson and Austen Tayshus.
He compered and organised Stand Up For East Timor, a benefit night starring Rove Mc Manus at The Regal Theatre in 1999
From 2003 to 2005 he performed in Broome, Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney and Girrawheen.
Don's gentle style of comedy is very up-to-date, with lots of news references and sharp digs at the media and the powerful people behind it. He's comfortable with any crowd from country footy clubs to corporate executives. Don also plays ukelele and guitar and sings his own funny songs.
He also works as a clown, teacher, actor and corporate speaker. To find out more about these things, see his website: www.humourworks.com.au

Ethan Marrell
Young, reckless and an attitude that says "Hey back off man it's only comedy".
Ethan won W.A Raw Comedy 2005 and enjoys doing other stuff too...Technically his comedic career began at age four when he found that he could stun his family with a killer toilet duck impersonation (as toilet duck was a very popular mascot in the early 90s it was a brilliant impersonation to have up his sleeve)..
However, Ethan now feels that society is not ready for toilet duck impersonations and has put that one in the closet for now.
He can also talk about himself in 3rd person if any chicks dig that...I guess I'll just wrap this baby up with a famous Fido Dido quote..."Keep It Cool"....
Anyhow, I hope this biography has lived up to your biographical expectations and hope to catch you all at the Hydey Lounge, Laugh Resort or Lazy Susans! Peace out.

Joel Bryant
“There’s something wonderful about watching an intelligent and articulate person, point out how fucked the world is.”
“I couldn’t get offended… I was too busy laughing.”
Joel thinks they are the loveliest things ever said about his show.
He could tell you about the movies, mini-series, TV & commercials he’s done, but really… Who cares when you’re looking for a comedian?
He could reel off a list of comedians he’s supported, but whoop-de-fucking-do. You got a job, it doesn’t make you them. If you’re a Monk should you be worshiped because “You’ve supported God?” The logic’s all wrong.
Joel dreams of a world where we laugh because it’s funny… Not because we need to. He enjoys gardening, beer, a good hug and pondering why we treat each other like shit. When he grows up he plans to stamp his feet and yell “No!”

John Robertson
John Robertson has a fantastic memory for things other people have chosen to forget. He has a lot of energy and a wonderful collection of jackets. He watched too much television as a child. He acknowledges that though his life's desire was to be Soundwave, he's probably a little more like Starscream. His stand- up comedy is mostly energy, voices, insults, pop culture and a little bit of contemporary dance.

Magic Matt
Magic Matt, he's not fat, he's just a bit chubby.
Matt has been performing comedy and magic for years. As well as performing at comedy venues around Perth he has also had a two week season at the BLUE ROOM with his own aptly named show, THE MAGIC MATT SHOW.
MAGIC MATT knows the codes of all magicians. Do some tricks and tell some crap jokes.
He may not pull a rabbit out of a hat but he can pull a hair out of his arse.
Before he came to Australia he was invited to join the magic circle by none other than Paul Daniels himself. The great man discovered him while he was working as a close up magician in PLANET HOLLYWOOD.
MAGIC MATT is an accomplished prestidigitator and can adapt himself to any situation. He is equally at home on stage or close up at coorperate functions and has routines to suit all occasions.

Nick The Hippy
A refugee from the sixties (one of the so called Kombi People), Nick has been performing comedy since 1992 and been on combustible painkillers since 1970.
His unique take on life was first noticed by staff at Social Security who, after hundreds of interviews, told him he’d better get off his arse and do something or he would be kicked off the dole. From the moment he first hit the stage he showed he had a lot to learn. He has worked all over the country learning the trade since then and has developed into a professional and reliable act.
Nick is the resident Comedian for “The Wild Colonial Psychos”, Mark (Jacko) Jackson and Chopper Reid. Although not the ideal traveling companion for anyone with Drug Induced Paranoia, Nick tours all over the country opening for the Two Scallywags.
“Nick the Hippy” also regularly works as a headline act and as an M.C. in Perth. He worked in Adelaide and Melbourne in the mid 90s and has also toured mining camps throughout W.A., N.T. and S.A.
As a Judge at Fremantle Court said of Nick in 1996,
"We do not consider this man a criminal, we consider him an idiot".

Xavier Susai
Oddly enough, Xavier’s comedy career started in 1987 when he was 4 years old, impersonating his mother over the phone to approve a credit card purchase of “MacGyver Season 1 on VHS”.
Due to a curse from a Sudanese Witch Doctor (after a sour business deal with the local villagers) and since his left testicle dropped at the age of 22, he is now able to do a multitude of over 50+ impersonations such as Foreigners, Animals, French People and Musical Instruments.
Many often describe his performance style as Impersonation/ Observationalist humour, others think he’s just schizophrenic…
His ability to look like countless types of Australian immigrants has managed to score him various sources of employment, such as:
-
A fluffer for the Brazilian National Football Team (Confederação Brasileira de Futebol)
-
A Mexican Box Factory Owner
-
An Algerian coffin manufacturer
-
Apostle Number 4 of Jesus Christ’s 12 Apostles
-
A Mayan bystander in Mel Gibson’s Apocalypto
-
The Sri Lankan guy in the Dilmah Tea advert
Who know’s what nationality he is…All we know is his free time is spent as a beekeeper and an interior designer for Leper Colonies
